We recommend only Canon or HP Black-Only (mono) printers as these are the only ones that have enough iron oxide/ferrite in the cartridges (above 30%).
- Canon: ANY black and white laser printers are safe to use
- HP: MOST black and white laser printers are also compatible but make sure to avoid any that describe their technology as “LaserJet Flow”, “Managed”, or “Never Stop”. And the HP model numbers to avoid (as of Dec 2020): HP LaserJet 103/107/108/408, HP LaserJet MFP 131/133/135/136/137/138, HP LaserJet MFP M440/MFP 432/M437/M438/M439/M442/M443, HP LaserJet MFP M42523/M42525/M42623

These models use large-capacity OEM black toner cartridges containing approximately 40–50% iron oxide, making them highly effective for decal transfers.
Canon Monochrome Laser Printers
-
Any Canon black-only (mono) laser printer is suitable.
-
Avoid color models, even if printing only in black, as color printers typically use toner with little or no iron content.
